List of (un)Realizations

When I was 17 I started to write a list of realizations of that year, thinking about the biggest achievements and mistakes (of course) and another list of expectations regarding the New Year. I more or less stick to this tradition, but now, as I’m thinking about this year I realize that I might have lost my 2013 to do list somewhere. I kind of lost my appetite for fashion, music and blogging as well. Two blog posts this year? Come on, Miss Katjes shouldn’t end up like this.

I feel like I didn’t do much this year, yet I perfectly remember the very first moments and thoughts of 2013: I raised my hands, closed my eyes and danced to The Verve’s Bittersweet Symphony and had the impression that everything’s gonna be just fine. By letting things happen it turned out to be fine, but I know that one should put more energy into making things happen.

I’m truly grateful for the friends I’ve got to know better – LifeLovers, daydreamers, every concert sounds better with you :)

Colors of Tuscany (part 1)

Flower pot with yellow flowers in TuscanyWindows in Tuscany and flower pot

Make the best of your travels by getting lost, intentionally making a wrong turn at the next corner...that's a golden rule for every traveler, who's determined to discover a sort of down-to-earth beauty in each place and experience a more intense personal connection with it.

Siena main square

Toscana, with its medieval towns, dreamy landscape, rocky mountains and mysterious islands, has so much beauty to offer that you never know what you'll find in the next town or at the next corner. Maybe it's just a simple flower pot or the traditional outer shutter which is everywhere and you're still so enthusiastic about it. Eating melon while walking down the path of history in Florence or choosing the wrong gate in Volterra and then getting totally lost might sound insignificant, but can easily become essential to a mind blowing Italian experience.

Teenhood memories

It was around 1999 when I discovered Silverchair. I was so crazy about their songs that I was surfing the music channels for hours, just to see their videos. I even cried a little here and there because of that beauty and joy of the art of music I discovered in these songs. It's rock, it's grunge, call it whatever you like, it's great to listen to even today. Haha, it's so funny, I remember that feverish teenage enthusiasm when I entered the first internet cafe to google the lyrics of these songs. I wrote them down and learned them by heart and I was sooo happy. I kind of miss those days. Anyways, here's Ana's Song and Miss you love. :)
