Colors of Tuscany (part 2)

Things I've loved in Italy...little details, a piece of art even on the tiniest streets all around Tuscany. It's a mixture of art, tradition and architecture that charms you instantly. The fabulous atmosphere and breathtaking sites makes you feel like you're taken on a journey beyond time.

Fashion in Movies: The Edge of Love

I really like movies in which fashion is just a hint, it has little to do with the story, and still, it’s there, making vital part of the characters’ lives. The Edge of Love is a perfect example for such movies. Dylan Thomas, love triangle, free-spirited artistry, poems and cabaret are mixed in such an inspiring manner that you’re simply caught and twisted by this absolutely bohemian atmosphere. Though Keira is not one of my favorite actresses, she was an excellent choice for this role, they are great with Sienna. I love the photos with the two of them.

And a little remake here and there...

Find your layer

The last couple of weeks I've spent mostly with work and writing some articles, but not blogging....no , not a single word. I guess I've tried to clear my mind, getting away a little bit from fashion...and still, I couldn't stop thrifting a few things...just for fun. Like for example, an 80s style jumper, you know, the one with huge sleeves, something like this (the first one):

Image from: NYMag.com

It looks fabulous paired with skinny jeans and it's really simple to accessorize, I like to wear it with a huge floral belt. The other day I was looking at photos taken a few years ago and realized how much my taste has changed all these years. I guess I like simpler things now, outfits that are not over-accessorized, but meaningful and tasteful in an effortless manner.I hate when someone takes fashion word by word, putting together an outfit from the most fashionable (?) items. They might act good put together, but this is when personality is lost within the layers. Where are YOU in this ensemble?

And this was when I came across upon the Bleubird Vintage blog written by a young mother of three digging for the seventies style. Her blog is not only about fashion, but the everyday life of her family. Here are just a couple of great photos of what the family members are wearing on a typical sunny afternoon:

UrbanFashionFun

I'm starting to become a bigger and bigger fan of Cycle Chic blogs. Through these sites you might get a glimpse of what people wear while riding their bikes. My absolute favorites are: the original one from Copenhagen, the capital of bikes and the one from the Netherlands. I guess these blogs are more colorful and creative in style than most of the usual streetstyle blogs. (I find it really amazing how people are willing to ride their bikes even in the biggest snowstorm). I even got inspired to actually learn how to ride a bike...

Here's Susan, my little 'sis' riding her little bike in Copenhagen...

J. Crew was also inspired by the cycle chic

The last photos are from the cycle chic blogs mentioned above.

The Capital Way

Boohoo! I'm here, only that I was missing for a while from the blogging experience. It's so hard to keep up all with all the favorite blogs and stories and pictures. But as I was looking through the regular ones, I've found James D. Kelly's photographic diary of Annie Monroe. I could upload my favorite photos of this diary to make this entry more interesting, but I won't do that, instead I simply give you the link.

Wedding time coming soon

One of my friends is getting married this Saturday, so the big, big day is coming. The other day I've seen this picture on Betty's blog that I absolutely adore. I love the outfits, the smile on the faces of the girls. The whole picture is sooo "ding dong, we're at a wedding reception, we know fashion, we are having a good time." I hope we all have such a terrific day this weekend :)

...And a tune I really really like these days...(fall, fall, fall, fall, faaaall :D)

Randomization, improvisation

We had one (ahem...NOT! two) casual photo shooting afternoons recently with one talented and otherwise particularly handsome nub sugar-lollipop young fellow (hehhee). You can have a look at his art, thoughts and peculiar humour at http://blog.wipetheworldsass.com/
We are hopefully planning other photo-occasions as well, they'll certainly have more to do with fashion, vintage, style, whatever, until that...hmhmmhm:)
